    Registration is now open for Occupational Health Symposium 2017! The conference schedule has been finalized. Topics will include Telehealth Applications in Occupational Health, Opioids in the Workplace, Active Shooter Response and Awareness, OSHA Updates, How to Broaden Your Organization's Perspective on Well-Being, Creating Change with Ergonomics, and Employee Engagement, among others.     This program has been approved for 11 General CEU contact hours, 13.2 Nurse CEU contact hours, and 10 HR Recertification Credit hours by HRCI. Participants may register for both days of the conference, or may register for only Thursday or Friday.

    We are also accepting registrations for exhibitors. This year, exhibitors will have the option to exhibit on both days of the conference.

  • Agricultural Safety and Health: The Core Course

    This course, offered by the Great Plains Center for Agricultural Health, provides the information and skills needed to enable safety and health professionals to anticipate, recognize, and prevent occupational illnesses and injuries among members of the agricultural community. The course is appropriate for safety and health managers, health care providers, public health practitioners, veterinarians, and anyone interested in the unique safety and health needs of rural agricultural communities.

    The Agricultural Safety and Health Core Course has been the national model of effective agricultural safety and health education for a decade. Expert instruction provided by Board Certified Physician and Veterinarian, Certified Industrial Hygienist, Certified Safety Professional, and Certified Professional Ergonomist. Continuing education credits are available for physicians, nurses, and EMS personnel.

    The Hawkeye on Safety annual conference provides life-saving health and safety information to Iowa workers from all industries. We also offer the key networking opportunities that you need to keep current in occupational safety standards and trends. This conference is intended for health and safety professionals, construction professionals (electrical, plumbing, roofing, carpentry, masonry, etc), project/facility personnel, HR professionals, general industry, medical professionals, and anyone looking for CEUs in health and safety. Like other conferences, we provide essential training to the managers responsible for workplace health and safety. But we also have a unique focus on providing practical training to rank-and-file workers, so that they can become safety leaders in their workplaces and communities.

    Please plan to join us on October 20, 2017 for our annual conference on the case management of work-related injuries. This conference is intended for case managers, occupational health nurses, insurance adjusters, safety and human resources professionals, and employers interested in expanding their knowledge of case management and the medical treatment of work-related injuries. This year's topics will include laser burn treatment, post acute care after catastrophic injury, release of information compliance in workers' compensation, low back injuries, and the role of physical therapists in the evaluation, management, and defense of workers' compensation claims.
