Training for Protecting the Workplace from COVID-19
Iowa State University is offering a four-module program for preparing employees, supervisors, and owners of manufacturing and construction companies for planning, preparing, and responding to COVID-19 in the workplace. The curriculum consists of four, 1-hour long, webinars that will be offered every Wednesday 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM from January – September 2021. The program will offer ten cycles of the four webinars. Respirator Development in the Time of COVID-19
About the webinar: The COVID-19 pandemic presented unique challenges in efforts to protect both workers and the public. A lack of respirators for health-care workers spurred research on the development of alternatives to the N95 respirator as well as methods to decontaminate them for multiple uses. CAOHC Course Director Laura Kauth presents a CAOHC-approved recertification course for Occupational Hearing Conservationists. This 8-hour course is designed to provide a review of the basic components of hearing conservation in industrial settings and prepare participants to perform hearing testing and otherwise support their hearing conservation programs. This hybrid course provides online instruction via Zoom, and a face-to-face day of hands-on, practical training.
