• Agricultural Safety and Health: The Core Course

    This course, offered by the Great Plains Center for Agricultural Health, provides the information and skills needed to enable safety and health professionals to anticipate, recognize, and prevent occupational illnesses and injuries among members of the agricultural community.

    The Agricultural Safety and Health Core Course, formerly known as the Agricultural Medicine Course, has been the national model of effective agricultural safety and health education for a decade. Expert instruction is provided by experienced faculty and specialists including Board Certified Physicians, Veterinarian, and Certified Industrial Hygienist. Continuing education credits are available for physicians, nurses, and EMS personnel. The course has also been approved for General CEUs. See the brochure for more information.

  • Occupational Hearing Conservationist Recertification Course

  • Occupational Hearing Conservationist Certification Course

    This two and one‐half day workshop is designed to familiarize participants with all facets of occupational hearing conservation and prepare them as audiometric technicians. At the end of the course, students will take the exam for certification as an Occupational Hearing Conservationist by the Council for Accreditation in Occupational Hearing Conservation (CAOHC).

  • 8-Hour Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA) Training Course

    The Construction ICRA program was developed in response to the needs of the medical community and the contractors that serve it. Inadequate procedures during an occupied healthcare facility construction project can cause fatalities if contaminants are released into the environment. More than 100,000 people are killed by hospital-acquired infections annually in the United States and Canada.

    This 8-hour ICRA awareness class promotes communication, awareness, and protocol required for working in an occupied health care facility, as well as outlining protection methods and safe work practices for the various trades and hospital personnel working in these types of facilities. Participation in the course is free and lunch is provided.

    The Midwest Rural Agricultural Safety and Health (MRASH) Conference brings together diverse participants, all interested in various aspects of agricultural health and safety. This year, we will be “Stressing Resilience” at the MRASH Conference. Stress impacts a farmer’s ability to focus and correlates with both physical health problems and higher injury rates.
