The Construction ICRA program was developed in response to the needs of the medical community and the contractors that serve it. Inadequate procedures during an occupied healthcare facility construction project can cause fatalities if contaminants are released into the environment. More than 100,000 people are killed by hospital-acquired infections annually in the United States and Canada. This 8-hour ICRA awareness class promotes communication, awareness, and protocol required for working in an occupied health care facility, as well as outlining protection methods and safe work practices for the various trades and hospital personnel working in these types of facilities. Participation in the course is free and lunch is provided.
