Industrial Hygiene
Spencer Baker is a master’s student in Industrial Hygiene at the University of Iowa. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Public Health, with an emphasis in Environmental and Occupational Health from Brigham Young University (BYU). While attending BYU, he worked as an industrial hygiene technician where he maintained gas sensors, performed fit testing, and implemented safety programs. In 2020, he published research performed on chronic lower respiratory disease and proximity to uranium mining locations in the western United States. Currently, his research interests include environmental air quality and agricultural aerosol exposure. After completing his program, Spencer intends to become a certified industrial hygienist and use his knowledge and experience to protect employees in the workplace.
