Paul Richmond is the Director of Environmental Health and Safety at Iowa State University. He is responsible for oversight of Iowa State’s comprehensive health and safety programs in environmental protection, occupational health and safety, biological and radiation safety, laboratory safety, industrial hygiene, asbestos, lead, and mold, etc.
Paul is a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) and Certified Safety Professional (CSP) with over 30 years of professional experience in the management of environmental, health and safety programs.
Prior to ISU, Paul spent nearly seven years as an Industrial Hygienist with the Department of Environmental Health and Safety at Indiana University. He also has experience in private consulting addressing personal exposure monitoring, personal protective equipment, health and safety training, compliance auditing, program development, asbestos and lead management, indoor air quality, and mold remediation.
Paul received his Bachelors of Science (B.S.) degree from the University of Missouri and Master’s degree from the School of Public and Environmental Affairs at Indiana University.
Paul is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA); Iowa/Illinois American Industrial Hygiene Association Local Section (IA/IL AIHA); American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP); National Safety Council (NSC); the Campus Safety Health and Environmental Management Association (CSHEMA) and the Iowa Occupational Safety and Health Advisory Council (IOSHAC).
