Angela Leek, Ph.D., CHP

Founder/Principal Health Physicist

Angela E. Leek, PhD, CHP, is the Founder of Quantum Radiation Solutions, where she provides expert support in radiation protection, emergency preparedness, and regulatory strategy for federal, state, and local partners. She brings over two decades of expertise in radiation protection and emergency preparedness, including leadership roles in both government and industry.

Previously, Dr. Leek served as Associate Vice President for Radiological, Nuclear, and Health/Med Solutions at Summit Exercises and Training LLC (SummitET®), and before that, she led Iowa’s radiation control program for 10 years, overseeing statewide radiological safety and serving as the Governor’s liaison to key federal agencies and organizations.

Dr. Leek earned her PhD from Iowa State University as a part of the Heartland Center, focusing on responder mental models of radiation and risk and earned an MS in Radiation Health Physics from Oregon State University. A Certified Health Physicist, she is a published author with contributions to The Oxford Handbook of Nuclear Security and several peer-reviewed studies on radiation risk and emergency response. She is also an active leader in professional organizations, including the Health Physics Society and the National Council on Radiation Protection and Measurements, and has shared her expertise internationally through numerous workshops and conferences.
