Effective June 2021, Henry A. Anderson, M.D., a member of the Heartland Center External Advisory Board, was designated by President Biden as the Chair of the Advisory Board on Radiation and Worker Health.
Established December 2000, the Advisory Board on Radiation and Worker Health is made up of individuals from the public that represent a balance of scientific, medical, and worker points of view and . Its primary function is to provide advice to the Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services
Dr. Anderson has been a member of the Advisory Board on Radiation and Worker Health since 2009 and previously from 2001 to 2006. He is an occupational physician, a former Wisconsin State Health Officer, and the retired Chief Medical Officer of the Wisconsin Department of Occupational and Environmental Health.
Dr. Anderson has four decades of experience in preventive medicine, occupational and environmental health, and epidemiology and has served as chair and member for a host of scientific and technical committees serving the Department of Health and Human Services and other agencies and scientific organizations.
