Heartland Center Trainee, Priyanka Vakkalanka has been selected as the 2020 recipient of the American College of Epidemiology’s Annual Student Paper Prize. Priyanka, Doctoral Candidate in the Occupational Epidemiology program, submitted her paper entitled, “Buprenorphine Treatment for Opioid Use Dependence is Associated with Decreased Risk of Suicide, Overdose, and All-Cause Mortality”. As the recipient of this prestigious award, Priyanka has been invited to attend the Annual Meeting of the American College of Epidemiology where she has the opportunity to present the paper. Her paper will be considered for publication in the Annals of Epidemiology with expedited review.
