We are proud to have a former Heartland Center trainee, Kari Harland, MPH, PhD, be a recipient of a 2020 Outstanding Alumni Award. The award is presented as recognition for Kari’s important accomplishments and her exceptional potential for future success. Kari is the Director of Research Operations in the Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine. She oversees research across the Emergency and manages over 30 active research projects. The department’s research capabilities have rapidly expanded over the last five years, in part due to Kari’s strategic vision and ability to build a cohesive team.
