This spring, the Heartland Center for Occupational Health & Safety decided to revamp our website to better reach and communicate with our audiences. The new design that you’re looking at now is the culmination of that effort. Here are the key improvements:
1. Our new front page is designed to make it easy for each visitor to find exactly what they want. The new site has a streamlined navigation bar, a frequently updated “slider” that surfaces our latest news and events, and a graphical “hero bar” that foregrounds the sections that we know our users need most.
2. We have a new Conferences & Classes calendar that will make it much easier to keep up with our continuing education events. Every conference and class will have its own page with detailed information on dates, cost, registration, and locations. We also have an upcoming events sidebar placed throughout the site to help you remember our upcoming dates.
3. Learning more about our training programs, and about our trainees, program directors, and staff, is much easier now.
4. Our new highlights section gives us a way to communicate more directly with the public about everything the center is doing to make our region a safer, healthier place to live and work.
Have a look around the new site and let us know what you think. If you find any bugs, please report them to Mike Meginnis.
