Steve Minshall is the corporate director of health and safety for the Ash Grove Cement Company – A CRH Company, in Overland Park, Kansas.
Steve is responsible for leading Ash Grove’s injury and illness prevention and compliance programs at its eight cement manufacturing plants, grinding facilities and for its subsidiaries, including Ash Grove Aggregates; Johnson County Aggregates; Ash Grove Packaging; Holliday Sand & Gravel; and Material Transport.
Steve’s career includes the U.S. Public Health Service (NIOSH); chemical manufacturing; asbestos abatement consulting; hazardous waste recycling, remediation and disposal; and cement manufacturing and surface metal/nonmetal mining.
Steve earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in biology from the University of Missouri-Columbia; a Master of Science in public health degree – epidemiology from MU; a Master of Science degree in industrial hygiene from Central Missouri State University; and a Master of Arts degree in communication studies from the University of Kansas. He is a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) and a Certified Safety Professional (CSP).
Steve is the immediate past Chair of the Portland Cement Association’s Occupational Health and Safety Committee, a current participating member of the PCA-MSHA Alliance, and the 2018 recipient of the John P. Gleason Leadership Award for Business Continuity from the Portland Cement Association.
