Occupational Epidemiology
Ms. Vakkalanka (Occupational Epidemiology Training Program) is a doctoral student in the Department of Epidemiology, with a concentration in Health Services and Clinical Outcomes and Pharmacoepidemiology. She completed her BS in Chemistry and BA in Sociology at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville in 2007. In 2010 she received her MS degree in Epidemiology at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in Baltimore, MD. Her research interests span across applications in the fields of clinical, psychiatric, occupational and pharmacoepidemiology. Specific research topics include: epidemiology of substance abuse, depression and suicide; impact of health policies on occupational cohorts and the general population; and pharmacotherapies for opioid use disorder and patterns of care for U.S. veterans.
