Occupational Injury Prevention
Hi, my name is Chelsea Hicks and I am a PhD student in the Occupational Injury Prevention program at the University of Iowa College of Public Health. I am from Madison, Mississippi. But growing up as a military kid, I have had the pleasure of calling more than one place my home. Moving around every three years of my life gave me some perspective on appreciating cultures and people different from myself. I received my BS in Biology and Community Health from Tufts University in Medford, MA and my MPH in Occupational and Environmental Health from the University of Iowa. I am passionate about violence prevention, environmental justice and environmental disparities. And I look forward to research endeavors in trauma and discrepancies regarding race and injury in the workplace. In my free time I like reading, spending time with my dog, and playing board games.
