DESCRIPTION:Registration is now open for Occupational Health Symposium 2017! Topics will include Telehealth Applications in Occupational Health\, Opioids in the Workplace\, Active Shooter Response and Awareness\, OSHA Updates\, How to Broaden Your Organization’s Perspective on Well-Being\, Creating Change with Ergonomics\, and Employee Engagement\, among others. You can see the full schedule here. \nThis program has been approved for 11 General CEU contact hours\, 13.2 Nurse CEU contact hours\, and 10 HR Recertification Credit hours by HRCI. Participants may register for both days of the conference\, or may register for only Thursday or Friday. \nWe are also accepting registrations for exhibitors. This year\, exhibitors will have the option to exhibit on both days of the conference.

SUMMARY:Occupational Hearing Conservationist Certification Course
DESCRIPTION:This two and one‐half day workshop is designed to familiarize participants with all facets of occupational hearing conservation and prepare them as audiometric technicians. Upon completion\, a certificate will be awarded which documents their training. At the end of the course\, students will take the exam for certification as an Occupational Hearing Conservationist by the Council for Accreditation in Occupational Hearing Conservation (CAOHC). For those who require nursing CEUs\, this course will award 23.7 contact hours (2.37 CEUs). \nLead Faculty: Laura Kauth\, MA\, CCC‐A\, Independent Consultant\, Davenport\, Iowa. \nLaura Kauth earned degrees in English\, biology\, and psychology at the University of Iowa\, and completed her Masters in audiology in 2000. Originally employed as both a clinical and occupational audiologist\, she moved to independent consulting in hearing loss prevention in 2010. She is an active and enthusiastic member of the National Hearing Conservation Association\, having served on its Executive Council for several years\, including as President. In her free time\, she engages in guerilla audiology\, accosting friends\, family\, and random strangers with earplugs and education.

DESCRIPTION:This National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH)-approved course is designed to provide a comprehensive theoretical framework combined with practical training necessary to conduct spirometry testing and screening for workers. This course is intended for nurses\, medical assistants\, and other health care professionals who are responsible for conducting spirometry in the workplace or clinic settings. SUMMARY:Case Management Seminar 2016: Care of Work-Related Injuries
DESCRIPTION:Join us for our annual conference on the case management of work-related injuries. This year’s sessions will include a panel discussion on caring for victims of electric shock\, a case-based discussion on knee and shoulder work comp\, a session on current legal issues associated with provider documentation of patient care\, a “stump the docs” Q&A panel\, and a presentation on current trends in case management. Nursing CEUs\, General CEUs\, and Case Manager CEUs will all be available to attendees. This conference is intended for case managers\, occupational health nurses\, insurance adjusters\, safety and human resources professionals\, and employers interested in expanding their knowledge of case management and the medical treatment of work-related injuries.
